Finally, Springtime!

With the incredible winter we’ve just had, it’s no wonder we look skyward, awaiting those halcyon days that follow.

At last, the time has come, but down here in the Southern California coastal areas we now see the overcast skies of gray May and June Gloom. Oh well, you can’t please everyone.

Filling reservoirs, rushing rivers, and super blooms are beginning to fill our stories and grace our lenses.

Our first OWAC Outdoors Zoom Event went very well with Matt Johanson giving a lively presentation, “Tales and Trails.” If you would like to give your own presentation to the OWAC membership via Zoom, let me know and we will schedule you for an upcoming OWAC Outdoors Zoom Event.

It’s time to stretch out to those places we’ve been missing and find the golden treasures we know and love.

Bob Semerau

My many years running our own business gives me a unique perspective on managing projects and creating effective programs. Passionate about fishing, I have been a staff writer for Western Outdoor News (WON) for over 20-years. Getting out on numerous WON fishing charters off-shore along the southern California coast, exploring Alaska and Mexico, and finding hidden gems like Bishop and Auburn for wild trout, makes it worth the effort. Writing about the outdoors led me to a mutually beneficial relationship with the professional members of OWAC. As Executive Director, I work to support the members of the organization and achieve their mission to tell stories of the great outdoors, which has been truly rewarding for me both personally and professionally.
