OWAC President’s Message – Summer 2022
With summer now in full swing, we’re all eager to get outside as much as possible. No matter whether it’s walking hiking, fishing, camping, cycling, kayaking, off-roading, touring, wildlife watching and photography, or something else, just enjoy the many outdoor opportunities available to us throughout this beautiful state.
OWAC’s Spring Conference, held at Big Bear Lake in Southern California, may now be a wrap, but the fantastic events, tours, and activities they provided will resonate with everyone for months to come. A big thanks go out to our wonderful hosts, especially Dan McKernan, the activity tour leaders, and all the businesses and venues who helped create another top-notch and eventful OWAC conference.
We should expect lots of articles will be generated in the coming months as Big Bear really showed itself to be a thriving mecca of outdoor experiences and adventures. And no matter the season, it’s a destination for outdoors enthusiasts of all sports and activities. While we were there, members and attendees spread out in search of interesting story ideas via hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, offroad jeeping, wildlife viewing, nature photography, and even some ziplining and helicopter tours! It was a tremendous conference and one that will not be forgotten for many years to come. Thank you, Visit Big Bear, for everything!
Enjoy your summer!
