The smashing success of the recent OWAC Spring Conference, held at Big Bear Lake, California, gave those attending plenty to create stories around for publication. Several attendees have already had their stories published with many more to follow. The event was exceptional, with our hosts providing a glimpse into the mountain life at a cherished California resort community.

Board Member elections were held at the conference and the results can be found in our newsletter.

Our efforts to settle upon a venue for the 2022 OWAC Fall Conference continue with three locations in the mix.

Members are encouraged to send a note to me here at [email protected] with any viable contacts that might be well served by hosting an upcoming conference.

Get out and enjoy the summer, especially on this 4th of July holiday, and throughout the coming months, then share your stories with us all by posting to the website. It is easy to post with just a click of the “SUBMIT A POST” button on the home page.

Making the Outdoor California experience memorable and rewarding for all is the goal of OWAC and with your participation we can continue to build on our enduring 35-year legacy.

About

Bob Semerau

The many years I have spent running my own business gives me a unique perspective on managing projects and creating effective programs. Coupled with the ten years I have been writing for Western Outdoor News these experiences have allowed me a set of skills perfectly suited for the OWAC Board of Directors. During my tenure as OWAC Vice President we have achieved substantial progress in the way OWAC operates and how we serve our membership. These contributions have been some of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences of my professional life. The further development of the craft awards program, working with each successive chair person, is among the many progressive developments I have accomplished as a volunteer on the OWAC Board. My interest in making OWAC work better, adding value both professionally and personally for each member, is the driving force behind my desire to stay aboard and complete initiatives recently begun. I seek your vote for re-election to the board so I may further the cause of OWAC and its membership and help it to continue to build as a unique, and outstanding, professional organization.
