John Henigin, past president and longtime member and friend of the Outdoor Writers Association of California, passed away on January 26, 2021 from a non-Covid related infection.
Born January 21, 1949, John began his career in radio with Fish Talk Radio, more than 20 years ago, broadcasting weekly from studios in Santa Barbara, California. Founder and co-host of Cork and Fork radio, John also explored the culinary delights of the Central Coast and beyond.

John built a place in the community by participating in many local organizations including the Los Rancheros Pobres in Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara Fiesta Days Parade, and the Santa Barbara Carriage and Western Art Museum. He often worked with local groups to hold the annual Kids Fishing Derby at the end of Stearns Wharf in Santa Barbara.
John is survived by his former wife, Julie, and daughter, Jennifer. The family will have private funeral services at a later date.
