President’s Message
Newsletter : December 2020 – January 2021
As 2020 winds down and the pandemic continues to restrict our travels, my husband and I, along with our lab puppy decided to escape and head east on a road trip to visit some of America’s beautiful national parks. I’m writing this quick note from stunning Zion National Park in southern Utah, one of the five national parks we’ve visited in the last eight days. This grand loop of national parks and monuments offers breathtaking views, lots of hiking opportunities, and some of the most spectacular scenery in the country … and primarily an escape from crowds of people, the pandemic and face masks! It’s not California, certainly, but these parks are easily accessible within just a two-day drive.
Don’t think for a second though that you need to head to Utah to relax. Instead, just as spectacular, and probably more even, are California’s nine national parks and multitudes of national monuments, recreation areas and historical installations. Sprinkled throughout the the state, all are easily assessable and great destinations to escape to when needing a break to relax and recharge. And, it’s low season!
These are just a few of my favorite ways to enjoy our natural wonders and escape the dreariness and social distancing requirements of the current 2020 conditions. But California is full of all kinds of opportunities, just get outdoors and enjoy!
I hope everyone is healthy and staying safe. Happy holidays!
