Looks like we made it to the end of 2021, hopefully leaving behind many of the issues that hounded all of us throughout the year.
Fortunately for OWAC, the good far outweighs any difficulties we may have had.
Our financial picture is looking secure in both our general and endowment accounts and our membership numbers have seen an increase in recent weeks.
Our bi-monthly newsletter publication date has been adjusted, with the next issue, Jan/Feb, in your hands January 15, 2022, setting up a new timeframe for publication throughout the year.
The new website has been debugged to resolve some recent issues and is working well and looking good. Be sure to log-in and build your profile with a headshot for use on press cards.
The Excellence in Craft Awards, EIC, is getting set to roll out in January so start pulling together your best work of this year.
We had a fantastic conference at Tuolumne County with another planned for spring at Big Bear Lake, California.
With the end of the 2021 Outdoor Writers Association of California Fall Conference, held at Sonora, California, we look forward to building on OWAC’s dynamic future. The many exciting activities and hidden gems found in Tuolumne County and Yosemite will give attendees stories to publish for a long time to come.
Three points where you can help:
- Contribute to the website, and newsletter, by submitting to the blog on the website at OWAC.org/blog log-in and click on submit a story.
- Bring in a new member. You know people who might qualify for OWAC membership. Do them a favor, introduce them to OWAC and ask them to join!
- Send in to me contact information of organizations you think would benefit from hosting OWAC’s Fall 2022 conference. We are open for new locations of interest.
Best to you in the coming year.
May the outdoors help you to get what you want from your work, and from your life.
