If you were a member of OWAC in the past, and your membership expired prior to December 2020, you WILL NOT be registered in our new system. Please reapply for membership on our JOIN US page. See the last tab about How to Apply for Membership.
Here’s how to reset your password.
Click the LOGIN button at the top right of any OWAC.org page.
Click the blue “Lost your password?” text below the LOG IN button.
On the next screen enter your email address and don’t forget to check the box “I’m not a robot” for reCAPTCHA. Then click “Reset Password.”
If you see this error message, “The email entered wasn’t found in our database. Please try again.”
Perhaps you did not enter your email address correctly. Try the process again and check your spelling.
OR
You are NOT entered in our new system.
If you are not yet a member or you were a member prior to December 2020, then please apply (reapply) to join OWAC.
You will be notified about your application and, when approved, you will receive an email explaining the next steps to pay your dues and manage your new online account.
If you are sure that you are a current or recently expired member and have an account on our system, please write to [email protected].
If you see this message, “Please check your email for the confirmation link.” Please check your email.
If you don’t find the email please check your junk and spam folders.
If you still do not find the email please whitelist our official email address: [email protected] and try the “Lost your password?” process again.
When you receive the email, it will look something like this.
Click the link provided and follow the prompts to enter a password. You can enter a new password or reenter one you have used previously. Our system will accept either.
Once you have reset your password, login and you will be automatically directed to your account page.
Now you can renew your membership, if needed, submit a blog post, and update your profile.
Note: Whenever you login anew you will be directed to your OWAC account page. See how to update your account page in a following tab.
Please browse the many other pages on our site to read our news and member stories, check our events and awards programs, and peruse the gallery of images.
To confirm if you are currently logged in … look at the top right of the page.
If this button says LOG OUT … then you are logged in. Click it to log out.
You can renew your membership up to 30 days before expiration. You can even renew your membership online if it has expired.
Click the LOG IN button at the top right of the menu bar on every page. You can also click the RENEW button in the sidebar on every page. Once you are logged in you will be automatically redirected to your Membership Account. You must log in to renew.
If you need to reset your password, click on the next tab to see how.
Now you’re on your OWAC account page.
If you don’t see a Renew link — you’re golden — your membership is current. The image below shows an active membership that is not ready for renewal.
The Renew link in your account will only show up 30 days prior to your membership expiration. You will receive reminders to renew 30 days, 14 days, and 1 day prior to expiration. Don’t forget to renew in time, to ensure uninterrupted membership.
The Renew link is also be available for expired memberships.
NOW! You are ready to renew. Click the blue Renew link.
You will be redirected to a page to select your payment method. And you can also choose to Automatically renew subscription. By checking this box your membership will auto-renew the next year and each year thereafter, until you cancel.
Remember — using PayPal is secure and quick and OWAC does NOT store any of your personal credit card or financial information. We do accept checks, but note that this is slower and can result in your account expiring if the payment is not received before your membership subscription expires.
After your billing details are entered, click RENEW SUBSCRIPTION.
(If you reached this page in error, click GO BACK to return to your account page.)
You will be redirected to a PayPal window. You may choose to pay with your own PayPal account or to enter your card details directly.
Whichever method you choose follow the prompts. to complete the payment. If you reached a payment gateway in error, use the browser back button to get back to your OWAC member page, or simply close the browser window. You will not be charged until you click Pay Now.
After you have paid you will receive a confirmation message and then you will be automatically redirected back to your updated account page.

All your account information is on the My Membership page.
The top section contains your membership subscription information. Details on how to renew your membership are on the previous tab.
Your account profile is divided up into two sections: Public Profile and Personal Profile.
ALL the content in your Public Profile is visible to site visitors. Your name or byline name and image appear on our members page if you are a paid-up member. Your name or byline, image, biography, and professional or personal website appear on each of your blog posts and on your author’s archive page. You can find your author’s archive by clicking your name anywhere it appears on the site.
All content in your profile, except for your Login ID, can be changed by you at any time. Refer to this graphic any time you help making a change to your account.
Don’t forget to click UPDATE at the bottom of the page anytime you’ve made a change.
This is the best bit!
Our News & Posts page is a great way for you to showcase your work. To submit a post for publication on our members’ posts page simply complete the submission form.
To get to the submission form you must be a paid up, active member and logged in. The SUMBIT A POST button in the right sidebar of every page will open the submission form.
If you’re not logged in you will see this screen. Please login. If you are not paid up, or not a member please see the tabs on how to Apply for Membership, or how to Renew your Membership.
You may submit new, previously unpublished stories OR articles that have been published elsewhere. You may only publish your own original content.
When completing the submission form, look for additional fields that will open up depending on the choices you make for some questions.
You may submit content in audio or video format. We can only accept links for hosted audio or video content, e.g.: Vimeo, YouTube, etc.
All our stories are illustrated with a feature image. Please upload a representative image of yours. And, you my upload up to 3 more images to be included in the post.
If your story has been published elsewhere we can include the link to the original article in your post. If desired, enter the relevant URLs in the Article History fields.
Finally … Click the confirmations and SUBMIT.

Your submission will be held in draft mode until the site editor can review it for adherence to our organizational mission and a few technical site requirements.
We will not edit your content. So please be sure to check your content for spelling, grammar, and accuracy of internal links.
If you wish have a published post corrected or removed, please write to [email protected] and include a link to the post.
Did you know that the featured members on our home page are generated automatically based on number of posts published? The more you publish on our site the greater your chance of being featured on the home page. Your published stories may be included in our bi-monthly newsletter, OWAC Outdoors, and be promoted on our social media channels. Check out our Facebook page here.
All your published posts will be automatically included in your Author’s Archive which is accessed by clicking on your name anywhere it appears on our site. If you have a personal or professional website, we strongly encourage you to include it in your public profile in the Website field.
We will NOT publish inflammatory, rude, or racially and socially insensitive content.
Click on our JOIN US page, which you will find in the menu bar at the top of every page on the website.
Review the benefits of membership and decide which membership plan is right for you. The majority of our members are Professional individuals who “earn revenue from the creation and publication of informational, educational, and/or entertainment focused content about the outdoors.”
We also encourage students and supporters (businesses, organizations, and groups) to join.
Are you a writer, blogger, photographer, videographer, influencer, or outdoor activist? Do you have content you’d like to share?
Join OWAC and see how you can build your profile and be a voice for the outdoors. Help us to help others get outdoors and become advocates for responsible recreation, preservation, and conservation.
NOW! Choose your membership category and click on the JOIN button.
Complete the form that loads and remember that the section Biography will appear on your public profile after you have been approved to join and activate your membership with your first annual dues.
All your account information in your profile, except for your Login ID, can be changed by you at any time.
Once we receive your application, it will be reviewed by our membership committee and, if approved, you’ll receive an email with instructions on paying your dues and activating your membership.
