Join Fellow Outdoor Enthusiasts at the 2025 OWAC Spring Conference in Visalia!

Get ready for an unforgettable experience! The Outdoor Writers Association of California (OWAC) is thrilled to announce its Spring Conference in Visalia, California, from June 1 to June 5, 2025. This event promises a fantastic blend of professional development, networking, and exciting outdoor adventures.

Discover Visalia: Gateway to the Sequoias

Visalia, known as the “Gateway to the Sequoias,” will be our host city, offering a vibrant backdrop for our gathering. We’ve partnered with Visit Visalia to create a diverse program that showcases the region’s natural beauty and attractions.

What to Expect at the Conference

The conference will kick off with our General Membership meeting on Monday. On Tuesday, prepare for a group adventure to Sequoia National Park, including a guided tour of the breathtaking Crystal Cave. Wednesday offers a range of exciting activities for you to choose from. To explore the options for Wednesday, June 4, 2025, go to Visit Visalia’s conference page here and make your selections.

The OWAC Spring Conference will conclude with a BBQ Dinner and our famous OWAC Photo Contest on Wednesday evening, June 4, 2025.

About

Bob Semerau

The many years I have spent running my own business gives me a unique perspective on managing projects and creating effective programs. Coupled with the ten years I have been writing for Western Outdoor News these experiences have allowed me a set of skills perfectly suited for the OWAC Board of Directors. During my tenure as OWAC Vice President we have achieved substantial progress in the way OWAC operates and how we serve our membership. These contributions have been some of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences of my professional life. The further development of the craft awards program, working with each successive chair person, is among the many progressive developments I have accomplished as a volunteer on the OWAC Board. My interest in making OWAC work better, adding value both professionally and personally for each member, is the driving force behind my desire to stay aboard and complete initiatives recently begun. I seek your vote for re-election to the board so I may further the cause of OWAC and its membership and help it to continue to build as a unique, and outstanding, professional organization.
