When you think of wildflower viewing, do you ever imagine lying on your belly to see those colorful blooms? Often called “belly plants,” these unique wildflowers are so small you may need to put your nose to the ground to see them.

We continue to seek out and embrace partners throughout California who share our mission. Visit Big Bear and Chirp Nature Centers are two such partners.
Most major cities have nothing but fragmented habitat, and urban wildlife has had to learn to survive in small islands of greenery amidst large swaths of human housing, carefully navigating the unnatural territory. Of course, humans & wildlife often collide, and it seldom ends well for the animals.
