FOCUS ON... MAMMOTH LAKES
Fall 2012 Tear Sheet Contest

THE DEAL: Give us your best 500-word (or less) story or essay about Mammoth Lakes, Mono County, and the great outdoors. First place winner will receive a two-night stay at Mammoth Mountain with lift tickets for two people, plus a pair of Alpen Optics binoculars, plus deep respect, honor, and (perhaps) everlasting glory.

THE FINE PRINT: Submissions must be made by way of our online contest form (below) no later than midnight on September 26, one week after the conference. The contest will be judged by an international panel of judges (including National Public Radio personality and all-around dude Tom Wilmer, award-winning writer and Sun Valley Magazine editor Mike McKenna, and award-winning Euro outdoor writer/shooter Paul Sharman), and is open to all conference participants (supporting members and guests as well). Judges will receive submissions without authors' names attached. Submissions must be 500 words or less having anything to do with the outdoors, Mammoth Lakes and/or Mono County. Entries need not be published or slated for publication. One submission per participant. Excerpts from longer pieces of writing are welcome if they can stand on their own. Please do not send photos at this time, but do let us know if you have supporting images. Your submission constitutes your warranty that the material is original. Author retains all rights, of course, but also grants us the right to publish it non-exclusively on the OWAC website (and allows Mammoth Lakes Tourism, Mammoth Mountain, Alpen Optics and other sponsors to use it, with proper attribution, in their own publications). We will be happy to hold off on publication if you have or hope to have other arrangements with another publisher. Please make note of such on the form.
