The Calaveras Winegrape & Gourmet will showcase exceptional and award winning wines produced from Calaveras grown fruit that will be paired with delicious foods created by our local restaurateurs. Cooperative trade and industry sponsors will have the opportunity to present their products/ services and educational seminars will be presented by industry leaders.
Guests will include agriculturists, winerape growers, winemakers, press, media and the general public.
Schedule of Events:
1:00pm to 4:00pm - Industry Exhibits & Demonstrations
1:00 - 2:30 - Speaker, Glenn McGourty, UCCE Viticulture & Plant Science Advisor from Mendocino County
Glenn is a widely recognized expert in the world of viticulture and will present Alternative Mediterranean varieties from France & Italy ideal for the foothills
2:45pm to 3:45pm - Speakers, Chuck Hovey, Hovey Wine & Consulting and Scott Klann, winemaker for Newsome-Harlow Wines and Twisted Oak Winery
Scott & Chuck will share their experience of Iberian varietals grown in Calaveras County.
Culinary Seminars begin at 1:30pm!
Nationally known "Cheesemonger" Judy Creighton, core instructor at Cheese School of San Francisco and American Cheese Society Judge will present a seminar on the secrets of successful cheese and wine pairing.
4:00pm to 7:00pm - Wines produced from Calaveras grown grapes & local epicurean delights
